Can I baptize again?

If you baptized into any denominational church, you are not saved. you must be baptised into the body of christ for your salvation.

“Can I baptize again?” Some of my prospects asked me this question several times whenever I reason with them in the scriptures.

This question is asked in many ways. One is “I have been a member of many churches, in each, I baptized, so is it necessary for me to baptize in the Lord’s church?”

Another one is “I have baptized scripturally with the right attitude but in a denominational church, is it required of me to baptize again in the Lord's church since baptism is one and once?"

Some even happened to be Christians, they asked, “can I baptize again if I sinned?”

Let the kingdom constitution address these issues.

If you baptized scripturally and at the right place, then you are a Christian. In this case, you cannot baptize again, since baptism is one and once.

However, we do sin every day, what about that? Yes, it is true! Human beings are fallible. What actually separates the Christians from the non-Christians is the redeeming attribute. Christians have the redeeming quality, and therefore, have access to the sustaining grace and all the types of the grace of God.

What we need to do as Christians is to confess our sins to God, to people we offend and even to the church if the need be. Pray to God for the forgiveness of sins. Always seek to be in right standing with God.

One flock of sheep and one shepherd

At the beginning of Christianity, there was only the “church”; there was nothing like denominational churches. Early Christians were just Christians not any kind of Christians. The Bible tells us that the church is the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:4) The body of Christ is one and He is the savior of it. The saved are added to the church by God Himself. (Acts 2: 41)

Those who baptized into Christ have put on Christ, and therefore, are in the body of Christ. (Galatians 3:27) Therefore, if you have not baptized into the body of Christ, you are not saved!. The body of Christ and hence, the church, is not many so that you can make a choice out of the lots. (Ephesians 1:22-23)

The truth is hard and hash. Someone who attends the Roman Catholic Church is a Catholic. An Anglican is someone who attends the Anglican Church, a Methodist, attends the Methodist church. One is not a Christian because he has “joined” a certain denomination church and baptized in it. Nevertheless, anyone who baptizes into the body of Christ and imitates Him is a Christian. (Acts 11:26)

Thus, if you have not baptized into the body of Christ but into any denominational church, you are not a Christian. God will save only those who are in his church.

Then after Christ has destroyed all powers and forces, the end will come, and he will give the kingdom to God the Father. (1Cor. 15:24) the church is the manifestation Kingdom of God here on earth.

A person must be baptized scripturally and in the right place. What it therefore means is that anyone who baptizes into a denominational church baptized into a different body other than that of Christ's. Remember, there is one body, which is the church, the called out he purchased with His own blood. (Ephesians 4:4; Acts 20:28)

The baptism a person receives in a denominational church will not put that person into the body of Christ because it is in the wrong place. In other words, God will not recognize you in a denominational church and for that reason will not add you to His church.

It is thus, crucial for anyone who wishes to be part of the Lord’s church, to baptize into it even if he baptized in a denominational church. Jesus Christ said, “I have other sheep that are not in this sheep pen. I must bring them together too when they hear my voice. Then there will be one flock of sheep and one shepherd.” (John 10:16)

Be one of the “other sheep” that will hear the voice of Christ so that you would be part of the flock that belongs to Christ. So, yes, you can baptize again if want to be part of Christ’s flock.
